There are two departments -- Natural Sciences and Geography Department and Socio-Cultural Service and Tourism Department -- at Natural Sciences, Geography and Tourism Faculty.
This university division includes specialized educational and research structures: Laboratory "The Botanical Garden", Research Institute of Geography, Environment and Natural Resources Management, Molecular Genetics Laboratory.
The faculty staff consists of 60 persons, including 8 Doctors of Sciences and 30 Candidates of Sciences. The guest lecturers -- professors from Finland (University of Helsinki) and Poland (University of Warmia and Masuria) – are involved in the educational process.
The students have practical training in the largest hotels – the Grand Hotel Europe, the Pribaltiyskaya Hotel, the Radisson SAS Hotel, in travel agencies – Riviera Holdings, Versa, Favourite, Petrotur Service, TEZ-Tour and many other service organizations.
Natural Sciences and Geography Department conducts practice in various educational institutions, the Russian Academy of Sciences, companies of biotechnological and environmental profiles. Educational field practices on Topography, Meteorology, Geology, Hydrology, Geobotany, etc. are held on the territory of the Leningrad region. Integrated training practice on Economic Geography, Social Geography and Physical Geography is held in different regions of Russia. In 2013 students studying Geography had their field practice on Hogland, the island in the Baltic Sea.
Students who study Hotel Business (Hospitality and Catering), Service, Tourism have the opportunity to undergo training in conditions as close as possible to the realities of the market. For this purpose, the University has established Educational and Tourist Centre “Tsarskoye Selo Campus”.

CAREER AND EMPLOYMENT
Graduates of Socio-Cultural Service and Tourism Department work at travel agencies, hotels, restaurants and other enterprises in the field of service and tourism. Many of them occupy executive positions or are the founders and owners of their business.
Graduates of Natural Sciences and Geography Department work in educational institutions of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region; many of them occupy administrative positions, teach in higher education institutions, have academic degrees.
Graduates, trained in Floristics and Landscape Art, work in the field of landscape architecture, and interior design.
